Service scope
GetNuans lets you order Ontario NUANS® reports, Alberta NUANS® reports, and preliminary name searches online. Reports are obtained using a NUANS® member's access and delivered to you electronically.
We provide a name-search product only. We do not incorporate companies, register business names, file trademarks, or submit documents to any registry on your behalf.
Independent private service
GetNuans is an independent private service operated by a NUANS member. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, or the Government of Alberta.
Ordering and payment
Prices are shown on each service page and at checkout in Canadian dollars (Ontario and Alberta reports are $39.95 CAD; a preliminary name search is $14.95 CAD). Applicable taxes, if any, are shown before you pay.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. Your card is charged when you complete checkout, and your order is confirmed once payment is received. We do not receive or store your full card number.
Delivery
After your payment is confirmed, your report or preliminary search result is prepared and sent as a PDF to the email address on your order. You can also look it up on the Track Order page using your order number and email.
It is your responsibility to provide a valid, accessible email address. Please check your spam or junk folder if you do not see the delivery, and contact us if it does not arrive.
Report limitations
A NUANS® report helps identify existing corporate names and trademarks that may be identical or confusingly similar to your proposed name.
A NUANS® report does not itself approve, register, incorporate, or trademark a proposed name.
A report is one input into a filing. The applicable registry makes the final decision on whether a name is accepted.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for entering accurate proposed-name details, the correct province, the filing purpose, and valid contact information.
Because a search is run against the exact information you provide, spelling mistakes or an incorrect province may make a report unusable for your intended filing. Please review your details carefully before submitting an order.
Acceptable use
You agree to use GetNuans only for lawful purposes and not to interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, our systems, or other users' orders.
Trademarks
NUANS® is a registered trademark. It is used on this website to describe the reports we provide. All other product and company names may be trademarks of their respective owners.
Limitation of liability
GetNuans provides its services with reasonable care, but to the fullest extent permitted by law our services and any report are provided “as is,” without warranties that a name will be approved or that a report is free of omissions.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to your use of the service or any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above shows when the current version took effect, and your continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
